Whiskey Smash

Revive this classic cocktail from a bygone era and impress even your most knowledgable friends. This drink is super classy but it is even tastier than it is classy. Originally conceived in the 19th century, the whiskey smash is reminiscent of simpler times and pre-prohibition cocktails. Our take on the whiskey smash makes it even more simple by using limoncello to reduce the ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Shot of Bourbon Whiskey
  • 1 Shot Limoncello of San Diego
  • 5 Mint Leaves
  • Ice (cubed and crushed ideal)
  • Garnish: mint sprig (optional)

Instructions

Pour the whiskey in a cocktail shaker or a glass and muddle the mint leaves with the whiskey. Add one shot of Limoncello of San Diego into the mix and fill with crushed ice. You could stop here but why would you when you can really up your class by shaking the mix in your cocktail shaker and pouring it over a strainer into the new glass of cubed ice. Garnish with a mint sprig. And that is a 21st century Whiskey Smash.
