Limoncello makes an excellent food ingredient, and can be used in a variety of desserts. this sweet and citrusy pound cake is one of our favorites, and it is a sure way to please anyone.
Cake Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 3 tbsp Limoncello of San Diego
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Icing Ingredients:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp Limoncello of San Diego
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Oil a 5×9 bread loaf pan. Whisk the dry ingredients in bowl and mix wet ingredients in separate bowl. Combine the bowls.
Pour the combined batter into the oiled loaf pan and bake in the oven for 50-60 minutes. A great way to verify completion is to insert a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean, its done.
Prepare the icing while the loaf is baking: Whisk together powdered sugar and limoncello. Set aside until loaf is done baking and cooled.
Once loaf is cooled, spoon icing over it and enjoy watching it drip down the sides.
